Malignant and benign tumours of the skin can be treated if they are identified and recognized in the early stages of their development. Don’t wait to get a skin tumour checked! The longer you wait, the more difficult it will be to remove.
If you notice any changes on the skin of your face or on the rest of your body it is important to keep in mind that it could be skin cancer. It is therefore advisable to consult a dermatologist or a plastic surgeon as a matter of urgency, especially if you notice the formation of scabs or bleeding, so as to proceed with their removal.
The larger the tumour, the more difficult it is to treat: another reason to get it removed as soon as possible.
In most cases, operations for removing skin cancer are carried out under local anaesthetic in day surgery.
