Cosmetic surgery in summer: which procedures are recommended?

Summer is just around the corner, and with it come a multitude of uncertainties related to swimwear and light clothing. You might really want to book an appointment at ClinicAgostini, but you don't because you think it's not advisable to have surgery in the summer. However, that is a misconception: certain procedures are more or less recommended during the warm season.

Schönheitschirurgie im Sommer: welche Eingriffe werden empfohlen?

In fact, for many cosmetic surgeries, there is no such thing as a perfect season. Any time of the year can be the right one, provided that medical instructions are followed, especially during the postoperative phase. Sometimes it is even useful to have a few vacation days available to use for recovery before returning to your normal daily routine. Healing can thus take place with more rest.

In the summer, for example, you can have the following surgeries:

Eyelid surgery: this procedure allows you to rejuvenate the area around the eyes (and thus the entire face) by removing excess tissue and fat, such as under-eye bags. This procedure is one of the most requested and frequently performed, and is therefore becoming increasingly perfected. The surgery lasts between 60 and 90 minutes and is usually performed under local anesthesia. Swelling and bruising are visible for 5-6 days. After a week, everything returns to normal, and in summer, these signs can be perfectly hidden behind sunglasses.

Otoplasty (ear correction): Prominent ears are the most common congenital deformity. This is a minor procedure that lasts about an hour and is performed under local anesthesia. Patients are usually adolescents, and the long school or university holidays are the ideal time to correct this flaw.

Breast augmentation: This is the most popular procedure in Italy as well as abroad. Many women want to have breasts that match their beauty ideal, especially in a bikini. After a week of convalescence, you can return to normal work, but you have to wait about a month to sunbathe topless.

Summer is therefore the perfect time to undergo some cosmetic surgeries. However, we recommend avoiding tummy tucks and liposuction, as sweat—exacerbated by the use of compression garments—can delay healing.
